Refinery29 and Simon Present Style Festival

This past weekend I had the opportunity to check out the Style Festival presented by Refinery29 and Simon at the Brea Mall. It was such a great event and so much fun to attend!! The theme of the event was festival season, so we got to be inspired by some great festival fashion by both national retailers and brands like Banana Republic and Ann Taylor as well as indie shops like vintage store Blossom Vintage and Whimsy and Row.

I loved Blossom Vintage’s display of pieces!! It was very much up my alley because the pieces were a mix of high/low fashion and very easy and bohemian. It really touched my inner hippie love child. This best part about Blossom Vintage is that are an online store, so you can purchase their amazing vintage finds online!! I will definitely be purchasing a couple pieces soon.

Ever since my sister’s bachelorette party in Palm Springs a couple weeks ago, I have a new obsession with flash tattoos. They satisfy my rebellious side of wanting a tattoo without actually having to commit to one for life. Plus, as anyone who knows me, I love anything that is metallic.

So, I was so excited to get a flash tattoo at one of the Beauty Bars that was set up at the Style Festival!! It lasted all weekend and I got many compliments on it! My good friend, Sasha of 26 and West, checked out the braid bar. She got an amazing small side braid that she rocked that night at an outdoor movie with her friends. It was really fun for us to experience this amazing beauty trends!!

One of my favorite parts of the event was the live performance by MS MR. They are incredible!! And, I’m always on the lookout for new bands and musicians to listen to. And, let me tell you they are definitely a band to listen to. I feel like I have the opportunity to now say I experienced an intimate performance by them when they become huge stars!

imageOverall, the event was a lot of fun!! From the DIY stage, where Sasha and I got our craft on making band-inspired t-shirts and the beauty bars to the musical performance and festival fashion browsing, I really feel inspired for summer and my summer style. Though I may not be hitting up any music festivals this summer, to me, festival fashion is just another form of summer fashion: bohemian, free, and fun.

Can’t wait until the next Simon event!
