Lookbook Live By GQ + Glamour

With the change of seasons comes the change of wardrobe. As we move from winter’s cozy coats, warm scarves, and cute boots and into spring’s shorts, dresses and skirts, we all start looking to different sources for inspiration for the latest trends.

Today, GQ and Glamour Magazine in partnership with Simon Shopping Malls gave us that inspiration that we all need for revamping our spring wardrobes. The Shops at Mission Viejo hosted Lookbook Live, a showcase of spring looks for both men and women. A friend and I checked it out today and had great time checking out the clothes, watching the Style Challenges, and partaking in the free beauty experiences!

The event had 4 ‘closets’ set up and each closet had a theme showing spring trends: Boho, Date Night, New Black Tie, and Casual. The closets featured pieces ranging from BCBG MaxAzria and Lulu Lemon to Forever21 and Old Navy. Each closet had a GQ or Glamour style expert there to help you find the looks that suit you, and then emails you your wishlist of pieces tailored to your style!!

Each closet had a beauty bar that offered a beauty experience that pertains to the spring trend it was showcasing. At the Boho closet, there was a braid bar with hair stylists from Toni & Guy, where the stylists gave shoppers of-the-moment braid styles. The Date Night closet had Sephora beauty consultants who offered red lips and wing-tipped eyeliner to correspond with a fun and fancy night out with your sweetheart. I got a red lip done at the Date Night closet and I loved it!!

To get shoppers engaged in the experience, the event held Style Challenges where shoppers worked with a stylist to create a look under two minutes. While I was there, two shoppers were charged with the task of creating the perfect men’s look for a brunch. It was so great to see how people interpret different styles for the same event!

Overall, the event was a lot of fun and it really was a great source of inspiration. I have a lot of events and activities coming up this Spring, from birthdays and bachelorettes to bridal showers and weddings. This was the perfect event to get the juices flowing of inspiration for looks to try out and pieces to get. Don’t be surprised if you see me at The Shops at Mission Viejo soon, walking around with a ton of shoppings bags!
