I have a confession: I love shoes. Like, a lot. I am willing to spend more money on shoes than on anything else. And, I think it’s because no matter what type of outfit I’m wearing, the shoes always complete it. At the moment, I’m obsessed with espadrilles. They’re the perfect shoe for summertime, especially summer trips when you’re walking around all day and need comfortable, yet stylish shoes.
As I was browsing some spring sales this past weekend, I came across the perfect pair in the Barneys Warehouse sale, at a steal of a price!! These gorgeous Aquazurra Belgravia Espadrilles are now mine and I couldn’t be more excited!! Now, knowing that I have a 3 week Europe trip around the corner, I may have started looking up some other espadrilles for the trip, because a girl always needs options for different outfits, right? Take a look below at the ones I’m currently coveting, including the new addition to my wardrobe.

Michael Kors recently agreed to a settlement in the lawsuit brought against the company last July over deceptive pricing techniques. Tressa Gattinella claimed in her lawsuit that Michael Kors engaged in deceptive pricing practices in regards to the products sold in its outlet stores. In particular, Gattinella claimed that the brand created the illusion of a discount where there actually was none.

For example, she purchased a pair of jeans that had a price tag stating that the MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price) was $120 but that the jeans were being sold for the low price of $79.99, leading Gattinella to believe that she was saving money. However, because the brand produces products specifically for its discount stores, by signifying a “discount” price, the brand is misleading its customers into thinking that they are purchasing products at a discount when in actuality they are not.
The first Monday of May is my favorite Monday of the year because it’s Met Gala Monday!! Celebrities and fashionistas alike come together to celebrate the newest Costume Institute exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. I love the Met Gala because it’s a chance for fashion geeks like me to salivate over some of the most beautiful couture, inspired by the exhibit’s theme.

This year’s exhibit is China: Through the Looking Glass and explores how Chinese aesthetics, art and culture has influenced Western designers and the pieces they create. The museum’s website describes the exhibit as “[h]igh fashion will be juxtaposed with Chinese costumes, paintings, porcelains, and other art, including films, to reveal enchanting reflections of Chinese imagery,” and that it “will feature more than one hundred examples of haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear alongside Chinese art.
Some attendees really took the Chinese theme to heart and incorporated these looks in their ensembles, while others may have stayed away from the theme but still looked utterly gorgeous in their gowns. Take a look at my favorite looks below!
Ever since I saw the gingham print pieces from DVF’s Spring/Summer 2015 runway show, I have been waiting for these pieces to hit the stores!! And, it seems others are taking the cue and taking the classic, wholesome print and reinventing it for the modern age. From the classic dress and the preppy shorts to the sheer top and the perforated skirt, gingham is taking over for spring. Here are a couple gingham pieces I’m coveting!

Elizabeth and James: Elizabeth and James does casual chic so well. This look is just perfect from the turtle neck to the cozy and comfy oversized sweater. Makes me want to curl up by the fire with a good book and some hot cocoa.
Nanette Lepore: To me this look is a perfect work outfit. The light color combined with the fun print of the top paired with the structured demure silhouette makes it both fashionable and professional!!
Boss: I love this dress because even though its such a simple silhouette, its a piece that makes you look twice. The beading, the structure, the fabric is all beautiful and quite sexy as well. The perfect dress for a night out with your love.
Bibhu Mohapatra: This dress is flawless. The color is like warm caramel, and I love the structure of the dress, from the peek-a-boo shoulders, to the structured bust, and the way the dress falls makes it elegant but sexy at the same time. Absolutely breathtaking!!
Marchesa: I always say that I should have been born in the ’20s so when I saw this collection, I was in LOVE. It was so hard for me to pick my favorite look, but this is definitely a fave because of the combination of the glittery and flirty top with gorgeously tailored wide-leg pants. Love!!
Michael Kors: I am in love with this look because it’s so fresh but it has great throwback elements from ’20s fringe to the prim Peter Pan collar. Love it!

I believe that a great crossbody bag is an outfit game changer. Not only is it so easy and comfortable to use, but it can really add a little touch of excitement or flash to your outfit. And, I think that it’s important to have a couple different styles of crossbody bags so that you have something for every occasion, from a glam night to an errand day to everything in between. Some can even transition from day to night so seamlessly. I have the Chloé Marcie bag and I use it for everything from shopping to bar hopping with my girls.
