It was tough to narrow down my favorites, since every collection made me ooohh and aaahhh!! But, alas, I had to choose my favorites. They range from the classics like Chanel, Valentino, and Balenciaga to up and comers Leonard, Vionnet, and Alexis Mabille.

Ahhh September. A new season, with the promise of leaves changing color, winds becoming crisper, and the prelude to the holiday season. But, the best part about September? Fashion Week!! Or, rather Fashion Month, New York, London, Milan, and Paris each getting a week for the designers in their respective towns to showcase the collections they have been working on for months.
New York Fashion Week started last week on the 4th and finished Thursday on the 12th. And, per usual, the collections did not disappoint.
I loved so many of the collections and it was so hard to narrow down my favorites, but below are my top collections from New York! And, let’s just say these pieces are making my heart ache for springtime!

Last night was one of the the biggest nights in fashion, The Met Gala. Let’s just say I would die happy if I were able to go to the Met Gala. It is held every year to honor the annual opening of the Metropolitan Museum’s fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute.
The event is hosted by Vogue and every year it attracts celebrities and the fashion elite alike, wearing the most gorgeous couture. The difference between the red carpet at the Met Gala and the red carpets during award season is that the Met Gala is all about fashion, which means the people who walk the red carpet are much more willing to take risks and be a little bit more avant-garde than celebrities who walk the red carpets at award shows.
This year’s fashion exhibit is entitled Punk: Chaos to Couture and exhibits the impact punk has had on fashion through the years. According the to the Met’s website “the exhibition will include original punk garments and recent, directional fashion to illustrate how haute couture and ready-to-wear borrow punk’s visual symbols.” The red carpet typically reflects the theme of the exhibit and this year, there were definitely outfits that had that punk edge to it. Below are my favorites!!
